The Reason I Choose My Final Logo

The reason why i choose this logo from the others is because, i relates to other super hero film i have looked at. My logo is the very simple with no color because my logo was inspired by the batman film title which also has no color. I tried to copy the font from the batman film title as well because i like the look it gives the film. 'Real Justice' is a perfect title for my film because the main character is looking for justice so i think it links really well with the film,  which is important because the audience can relate.

Target Audience Being Looked At

After carefully looking at the target audience we thought we had, we found out that looking through the our survey monkey again we found another target audience we can hit at ! On our survey monkey we found that middle aged women also like this genre of film which is very positive for us because this means we can aim our film middle aged people as a whole. This will exceed in more sales because then couples who are middle aged and like this film can watch the film together, so if you think about the sales are being doubled just for our target audience hitting females as well as males.

Preliminary Task

This is my preliminary task were i practised different filming techniques such as: the rule of thirds, comply with the 180 degree rule, use a shot reverse shot and match on action.

Final Production

Production Company Choice

Momentum pictures is the company we chose for our production company. it is a worldwide famous production company, and we have decided to use this company on opening sequence. it will make our film look very official having such a famous production company on our opening sequence. There logo will appear on out opening sequence, so people liking there production company will more or less like our film because we are involved with the production company.

Audiences That Influence Genres

Romance -

Romance films are very successful because of female viewers who are loved up with the story line of films such as Dear John which is a film based on a solider who meets the life of his life before he goes to war and cant be with her and she starts to loose her memory and when he comes back from his service she doesn't know who he is. Another successful romantic film is Bridget Jones which is hugely popular for girls and women because they can relate to the film in many ways. There is a problem with romantic films is that they are only aimed at women but on the other hand, women of all ages can enjoy a romantic film. Another advantage for romantic films that they can link with other genres such a comedy thriller and horror and probably all the other genres. Romance is a massive genre in the film industry most films do haver a romantic story linked in the film, wether it be a man and women love story or a friendship or man and a animal love story they can be linked into any genre of film. My own film with have a love story at the beginning of the film to show what my character is fighting for because when ever someone is fighting for someone is because they love someone or something involved in the violence or has been involved in the violence. A downfall for romance is that you the love always seems to win so it can be very predictable for audiences, but love stories can never get old for the sot hearted audience.

Audiences That Influence Genres

Horror -

Horror films are great for new ideas for new films because you can create anything and make it scary. The other great thing about horror movies is that you can make a horror with a very little budget a good example for this Paranormal Activity, you can also make a horror film with a big budget and it can be successful an example for this is SAW. The problem with horror films it only appeals to teenagers and young adults really because of the age limit they give to the film, with most horror films are given a rating 15 or 18. Horror films can generate hardcore fans so they will be able to sell merchandise such as T-Shirts toys and props. The element of surprise is a huge advantage for horror films because the ending of the film is always surprising if the film is half decent and no matter what people do they will always be scared of things jumping out at them. Horror films can struggle with actors, the actors in the horror film genre aren't at a high calibre, either the blonde silly actors who are too dramatic or the men actors who try to be the hero and don't do it well. This is how horror films shoot there selves in the foot. i will be using a hint of horror in my film but not in the scary way but in the mysterious way, because i think it excites audiences and keeps them on the edge of there seats whilst watching. i will use gloom and doom kind of effect in my film to create the atmosphere of the film because it is about an ex veterans war memories.

Audiences That Influence Genres

ACTION

Action films are usually hollywood blockbusters such as the avengers, which has budgets of 100million which is a massive amount of money. Action films have a veery large target audience because they try to appeal to as many people as possible. they can relate to kids, teenagers, adults and even OAPs depending on weather they like action genre films. They are mostly aimed at kids and teenagers though so they can sell other merchandise such as clothes toys and also video games and soundtracks from the film. The negative side to action films they are very predicable to audiences that the good guy always wins, but the plus side they have if the money to spend on special effects to make the film more powerful and attractive to the watchers this is why people like watch action films. Big well known actors usually appear in the big action hollywood blockbusters so that attracters more people to come and watch the film. my film has no action involved int because we don't have the budget and the story line isn't based around big explosions and doesn't need high quality CGI to be added to it.

Audiences That Influence Genres

Comedies -

Comedies have a really high target audience as every age group can enjoy comedy. But there can be different comedies can appeal to different age groups. Comedy films that appeal to children can aslo appeal to adults because the film makers who make the film know that adults will be watching the film with the childrens. Also films that are aimed at teenagers can also relate to adults and even older people as they can relate to the situations that are funny about being a teenager because they have been young before, depending on if its film like american pie or a romantic comedy different types of people will like different comedys. The genre comedy for films is probably has the biggest target audience to aim at. My film is not a comedy film , because they are very hard to make and it takes more planning than other films because you have to think of a story line but then fit funny things into the story line which can be very difficult to keep on track with the film. You also have to find the right actors to do your film as well and it is very hard to have original ideas to your film because most of the ideas have been done before.

After Our Film......

After our 2 minute film, we would keep all our settings generally the same. The reason for this is because we want to keep the same atmosphere for intier film and the same vibe. To do this the settings will need to stay the same, the setting will have to be in a dark dismal place which looks broken down with no love there or any life. It will also have to be damp and when there is light it can only be cloudy light to set the perfect scene for the genre of film we want to create. If we could have a larger budget to carry on the film, we would make special effects using CGI and other things to make the film look much better and modern. Im sure our audience would enjoy CGI added to our film because it comes under SIFI/ Horror and both these genres have a lot of CGI added to them in the modern day cinemas.
The Reasons Why I Thought Our Film Was Successful

The main reason why i thionk our film was a successful is because the roles that we gave eachother to contribute to the film where perfect for the 4 of us to acheive. The jobs we gave to eachother where perfect for the each one of us to do well. We all stuck to our jobs and made sure our job got done first then asked eachother for help after to improve the idea or the task. As a team we work very well, we didnt take long to complete the task because we gave eachother the same amount of work to do so it was fairly shared out. We was clever and gave Specific jobs to eachother who was stronger in them areas, for example Harley got to act because he does drama as A-Level drama so he has experience in acting. Joe was incarge of filming because he has done filming outside of school before so he could perform this task slighty better than other people in the group. All together our group done really well to get our film finished and up to a really high standard.

This is one of the background music sounds we was going to use for our film. it gave us the idea that we need sad music to connect with the audience. We didn't think this track was perfect to add to our film so we search for other tracks.
The reason for the music used in our film

The reason we used the music we did in our film is to create tension from the very start of the film so the audience could hear and feel the distress from our main character. The music is dismal which is the mood we are trying to create for the audience. the music is meant to represent his life and how he feels all the time and how his overall life has gone pear shaped. The music is also in there to represent the confusion and regrets that the character has, and we hoping the audience catch this with the sound of the music.
Super Hero Film Titles - Which Have Inspired Me

Here are some of the Superhero film titles i looked at before creating my own. The colors and the fonts inspired me the most, for example the fonts on all the titles are round about the same, so i choose to keep my font the same for my film title because its a superhero film it will suit the film because as these big name superhero films use this font it is common sense to use the same font as them. The color schemes that they use are very simple and are quite dull. I think the reason for this is because superheroes are very mysterious and do not reveal a lot and the titles seem to match that. Usually the color of the title sequence for superhero films match the color of the superheroes costume because then audiences can recognize the title and the superhero by the film title   this is what I'm trying to achieve with my superhero. Batman - The Dark Knight Rises inspired me the most out of all the film titles because i like the specific font it uses and i also like the simple colors used because there effective. i also like that batman doesn't let anyone know his true identity and keeps him self to his self. i also like the fact that he fights for revenge and justice which our superhero is fighting for in our film. so batman was a has huge inspiring role in my film.

Costume Designing

We put a lot of thought into our costume designing because costumes are the first thing that the audience look at when they are watching a film. It brings out the personality of the character and gives a immediate impact on the judgement of the character. We chose the main character to have a dressing gown so the audience could clearly see that the character was lazy and doesn't have a life. We gave the other character glasses so he remained unknown to the audience and seemed more mysterious, to give him an edge. his ling coat that he wears is also quite old but we wanted the long old coat to make him seem stuck in the past, where he wants to take the agitator.
The reason for our props being limited

Follow the link above to watch the video!!!
The film title drawn up !

This is the drawn up version of the title of our film. Harley Francis who is a member of our group designed the drawing. We decided to call the film ' A Box of Tears' because the main attraction in our film is the box that the character picks up, because when jack pulls out objects out of the box in the film it makes the audience think about what a mysterious past this character has had. The title also gives away the fact that the box gives pain to the character. The font is perfect to the genre of film because its serif font which shows its old fashioned, and with a tear drop added to the O shows its connected to the idea of the film.
Costumes

Sun glasses are used on the 'sideman' actor. we used sun glasses to make the characters look more mysterious and to hide his face away from the other actor talking to him and to the audience, so he keeps people guessing who it is when you first see him.

The Genre Of My Film

I will try to make my film fit into as many audiences as possible so i can generate the biggest target audience i can to get more people liking the film. It will be based on a ex war veteran who has lost his family (which is the love side of the film and shows what he's fighting for) who will have avenge his family by trying to take down the government to show that it is corrupt (that is the action and thriller side to the film he will also kill people so that makes it come under Horror as well) The only genre i will not involved my film to be under is comedy because it is very difficult to add comedy into the film i want to do. But all the others will be roughly covered.

Costumes

Our main character is wearing a dressing gown in our film, because the setting is in the main charcters house, so we set his costume as a dressing gown so the audience can realise that it is the main charcters home. Also when the charcter is wearing a dressing gown it looks like he is being lazy, and we are was trying to make our charcter look like he has no energy and doesn't do anything with his life.

TREATMENT

Ex vigilante veteran dealing with the harsh return of normal life after cold blooded life changing war and his story on how he has recovered.

Arthur Lloyd was a top secret death machine who once worked for the english government, he is an ex war hero who has had his family taken away from him for reasons unknown, but the hate and revenge is still aching in his heart. Before he was injured mentally in the brain, he remembers a flash back which revels the corrupt sickening reason why his family and many other families have gone missing through false lies where the suppose 'accidents' was the reason for the families disappearing. Through the flash back he remembers where the document is and discovers it in his house and it reads "We must take down the population of the world" this was a document from he government so after a few days sobbing and crying he eventually decides to do something about it, but he does it all wrong. Whilst still drunk he gathers his weapons and armory together and heads straight for the houses of parliament and kills two police officers and gets taken down and gets arrested and sentence to 20 years in prison, but for his mental health he gets sent to a Asylum to help his recovery which will turn out to be a major point in the story for missing out on prison.

Whilst suffering in the mental asylum he stumble across an old friend from his war days called Ezio after catching up they discuss the corrupt government and Ezio knows the truth and has lost his family as well so they decide to join forces to take down the government. They spent 18 months planning there mission, after a crafty 18 months of taking down certain workers and working hard to train them selves to be ready for the biggest challenge they have ever faced. Arthur Lloyd decides to pull on a mask to act as a symbol to the public to give them a hero and to also hide him self a way from the world. His partner in crime ezio decides to keep his self reveled because he wants everyone to know the truth about him and what he is trying to acheive. After gaving more intel over his  family from inside information Arthur gets more angy towards the situation, so he takes his mask idea more seriously and gives him self a name...... 'The Agitator'. For another 3 months they plan to break out of the asylum which they achieve with ease but it sends out a warning sign to the rest of the government for them to get ready as well. With help from friends on the outside they keep them selves away from the police in hide away shelters and managing to get food and water to keep in shape. keeping a low profile for 2 months of planning The Agitator and Ezio are ready to launch there mission and generate the biggest terrorism that has ever happened to London.

Collecting old school weapons and armory from there basements with 4 guns and several grenades each and tactical knifes attached to there packed out outfit, they will have to travel light so they can get around swiftly to keep to key low profile. They will have to hide out at there old captains house who will give them shelter food and water, and better quality equipment to have a better chance of succeeding, also mentions different plans and strategies to go about the wild mission ever to be constructed since Guy fawks, They decide to split there mission in to three sectors. First plan is too take down parties of the police and head back to hide out and do this several times to weaken the enemy without getting spotted. Secondly after a couple of months of that they go for the big show down and they will attack the government from underground by going through the underground train lines to finally reach there destination. Then they set up camp on one of the old tr and will take down the most corrupt criminal of them all whose name is unknown and only The Agitator knows of this person, and he wants him and only him to get his revenge the worst why possible by humiliating this person in front of the whole world and hopefully turn the general public against them and start a massive civil war so the people can have the truth handed back to them !

At the end of the film i want The Agitator to be successful and have the world ready to take on the government of the world to create the biggest civil war ever. with the people and the army against the government and the police. The world will be split into two and at the end a massive war is just about to begin with The Agitator the leader of the people. But sadly Ezio dies during the mission sector 3 so he wont be involved in the next quest. But the film will end with the The Agitator leading the people to war with a cliff hanger.

Location

These are images from where we filmed. We had one main setting and three smaller settings inside the main one.

This room is the setting for our first scene. Where the agitator is sitting down thinking about old memories from war.

This setting is where The Sideman comes and knocks at the door to talk to the agitator.

The Hallway

This setting is breifly used when The agitator walks from the living room to the front door to answer the door.

Casting Age

We wanted our cast to play middle aged men. The Agitator who jack plays it roughly meant to be 45 years old and jack is 17. Its hard for jack too look like a 45 year old man, but we can't be hiring actors who are round that age because we haven't got the budget for that. We picked jack out of our group to be the agitator because he looks the oldest out of all of us so we figured that would be the best solution.
Harley plays 'The Sideman' we wanted this character to be roughly 35 to 40 years old. We had the same problem with this character because can't hire any actors because of the budget but we made the decision for harley to be this character because he is probably the best actor out of all of us because he takes drama for an A-Level.
Problems we had when filming

We had several problems filming because we had limited resources such as props, we had to make do with what props we could find at our location. Another problem was the lighting wasn't ideal because we couldn't film at night where we was filming so we had to deal with the sun light whilst filming. But we managed to keep the sunlight out by using curtains. We needed the setting to be dark so the audience can obviously see what genre the film is when there watching it, and so that it creates a good effect on the mood of the film we was making which is horror themed.

We also had limited time to fit all our wanted casting into the film, we would of liked to fit another character into the film but it wouldn't be as good. On the positive side as we had a limited options for actors the actors we do have done really well when they was acting.
Survey Monkey Responses - Finding My Target Audience

My survey consisted of 10 questions so i could narrow my target audience down as much as i could.

The people that took my survey where a mixture of male and female, i made sure of this so i could see the differences between genders who like a certain genre of film..

I asked this particular question because my film is a SI-FI / horror film and i wanted to know if they would spend money to watch and SI-FI / horror film so ill know straight away if they like this genre of film. 70% of people said yes and 30% said no.

This question is important to ask because you want to know if the person your surveying likes to watch films in the first place. The results were positive with every person saying they like watching films little bit or more.
I wanted to know there favourite movie so i could see what specific genre they really like. There was a huge range of different films that got mentioned, Action Romance and comedy was mostly the genres linked to all the films.
I wanted to know if the people i was surveying liked some sort of super hero involved in a film, because in my film i have a superhero character and wanted to see how many people out of ten would say yes. 70% of the people said yes so that was a promising thing to find out.
This question was really to help me decide how to end my film. After finding out the answers from this question i will be looking to end my film on a good note because the majority of people said happy ending or both. This question was must helpful.
This question is very helpful for me because i can see what audiences think the most successful genres of film are in the modern day. It gives me a good idea of the type of people who will like film will be.

I asked this question to find out if horror and SI-FI would come up consistently. SI-FI came up 20% and Horror came up 10% so 30% of people would enjoy a SI-F0 /Horror movie based on this survey.

i wanted to find the different ages of the people i surveyed so i could link gender age to the genre of film they like the best, so i could find a specific target audience for my film.
This question was to find out what the latest films have been shown at the cinema lately, so i know what i will be competing with and what people are used to at this point in time.

Logo Research

these are some of the logos i looked at when i was looking for ideas for my film company logo. I really like the shape of these logos and it as inspired me to make my logo the same shape as these logos. Also the colors are simple and the logo overall are simple which i like personally.

Casting

Charlie Tossell - 'The Salamander" (Me)

I will play 'The Salamander' who is the villain, who is The Agitators worst enemy. I wont have a huge part in the film but its important i am involved in the film so the audience can see the villain. This character suits me because i can mimic the voice of a villain in a batman film which we can use this voice on our villain. I have given and have received all the contact details i need to my cast team so we can arrange times and locations to be at so we can film we are all free. We wanted our villain to be a male because it makes the villain seem more intimidating to the audience. I can adapt to the style i need to play, but because of the voice i can mimic its the main reason why i am the villain. I am also available in the next 2 weeks because of the easter break, so i able to film anytime during that time. I will be reliable to my team because i am motivated to have a successful film. Im not expecting any wages for the film but i wouldn't mind having a treat from Mc Donald's as well, ill have to have talk with my cast team. My acting ability isn't great but i will do my best to make the film look good so i don't let anyone down in my group. i will be flexible for the other members in my team so we can get our filming done.

Casting

Harley Francis - Ezio 'The Sideman'

Harley will be playing the 'The Sideman' (Ezio) who is the best friend of The Agitator. Harley also has a lot of involvement in the film, because he is the main characters wing man. Harley fits this character perfectly because he can adapt his voice to fit the part of a 'Sideman'. The contact details for harley are fine because we will be filming at his house so he is free whenever we need to start filming. The unique faces that Harley can pull are excellent for for the part because the character is mental ill, he also looks young so when people are watching he can seem less intelligent. Harley is the age we needed to fit the part because we needed all our characters need to be under 19 which he is to give our character a certain look. His style when he dresses up to be the character is great for the part also because he can adapt to the part. Harley is also available in the next week because we have 2 weeks off for school and we are using this time to film. We have Harley's phone number so we can text or call him to ask when He's free to film. as we haver no money to give Actors money we are going to pay our actors with a treat from Mc Donald's for the time they have put in. For the limited options we have for the choice of people for this part harley actual plays this part very well as he does A Level drama so that gives him some experience.
Casting
Jack Pilditch - The Agitator (Arthur)

Jack will be playing The Agitator in the film, so he will be the hero of the film with the most words and actions during the filming with the whole film will be fixed around him. we picked jack to be the main character because he seems to fit this character the best out of the people we looked at. We have all the contact details we need for jack to be available when we need to start filming. All three cast members are the same age which fits our film because they all need to look the same age. Also they are all men as well which is perfect for what we needed because our plan was to have three men casting in our film. jack is the perfect style for the hero character because of his look and build because he is stronger and taller. Is voice is also excellent for the hero part because its mysterious with a confident sound to it. Jack is free when ever in the next couple of weeks when we will be filming our film at a location we will be allowed to film at. He has said he will be reliable and gave us his phone number so we can discuss times and locations where we will need him to be. I know if we was professional film company we would have to go to an actors agent before we got them to be in our film and discuss wages, but as we know the actor we will just buy Jack a milkshake from Mc Donald's for his wages. If we had the money to get a better actor we would get them but we don't, so we got the best of what we can pick out of for the ability jack is the best we had to pick from.

What I Have Learnt After My Logo Research

I learnt from researching logos that, companies try there very best to relate there logo to there name. for example disney have the magical castle with fireworks behind the name which shows that this company is aimed at children and it relates very well with the films that Disney make. On the other hand some logos dnt relate to the what the company does, for example KFC the logo is a the founder of KFC if someone didnt know what KFC was they wouldnt know that KFC was a fast food restaurant that sells chicken.

Inspired My Logo

These are some of the logos i have looked at to inspire my logo. Logos from the film industry also from the clothing industry and the fast food industry. These logos are the main three logos that i looked at to inspire my logo. I took a little bit from each logo to blend it into one. I like the style of the nike tick it is modern and is simple and very reconigseable. I think the pizza hut sign is very clever because the name is linked with the art of the logo. The disney logo is perfect for the magical and happy ever after vibe that they have, so i castle that looks like a princess or a king would live is perfect to blend in to the title.

Logo Research

I looked at several proffessional logos to get a basic idea for my logo so i got a basic idea for what i want my logo to look like. I looked at logos that didnt even relate to film companys so i could generate a fresh idea to make the logo look unique and to stand out from other film company logos.
The logo i have choose to do is very simple but i think it is perfect for what i was trying to achieve because i was more worried about having the name of the film company in the logo, i think this is vitial.

A Films Target Audience

A film target audience is were a certain type of genre of film wants to hit a certain audience or a wide audience. Film makers will want to hit the biggest target audience they can so they have maxium amount of sales. Disney films are perfect example for this, films such as toy story have sly adult humour hidden in the film which kids who the film is aimed at will not understand or worry about, but it gives the adults who are maybe watching the film with there kids plessure from watching the film. For hollywood blockbusters it is very easy for them to reach a really wide target audience because of the advertisment they use or the films they've made before. But also because the hollywood blockbuster are very mainstream so people will know about them alot because the media will be talking about the big money films all the time. When targeting an audience you will need to see what people will be looking to watch your film. So you will have to take in to consideration the age rage for the film, is it going to be specific or relate to alot of different ages. Also what genre will take a liking to the film better. Also the use of lanuage sexual activity and drugs are going to be shown because then it will limit the audience because people under 15 or 18 will not be able to watch the film. Target audiences do really make or a break a film because it has to be perfect for the target audience or the target audience you have targeted will not like the film.

Inspired By

After going on a school trip to paris, on the 29th of march to the 1st of april. during that time the internation independent film festival was going on, And we was lucky enough to watch the films and talk to the directors of the films. The films were very inspring because they all had such a low budget and were at a very high standard. After watching and listening the films they have inspired me on the film i will be making. Because after watching the films, i looked at my plan and saw that my film looks to complicated to do on a low budget. So i am taking some of the parts out and making my film more simple, this will make my film have a better quality to it because i wont be punching above my own budget weight. By doing this is will help the audience understand what im trying to acheieve.

One indepedant film that inspired me the most was called ' Milkshake At Gina's '  It was fantastic for the audience to watch because it was a cunning film with an ending that no one would expect with the eliment of surprise brought to the film which is always a good thing for the audience. This is exactly what i want to acheieve to keep the audience guessing right until the very end so it keeps them interested throughout the film.
This picture was taken at the cinema in paris, this pictures where taken by phtotgraphers who where doing a project on the film festival and posted them on there twitter page so i got this picture from there twitter page. i choose this photo becuase i am in the back ground of the picture in the middle.Goign to paris for a school trip was hugely successful and benefitting because i learnt an awful lot about independent filming. i strongly recommend it for others.
